Chuah, Ken

Ken Chuah has been a Malaysian Kennel Association (MKA) member for over 30 years and during this time has been involved in successfully exhibiting English Cocker Spaniels, Irish Setters, English Setters, Dachshunds, Golden Retrievers, Dobermans and Bearded Collies. Amongst these breeds, his biggest winners were his English Setters, which were multiple BIS winners, and included the first Gundog Grand Champion in Malaysia.

He was also actively involved in breeding English Cocker Spaniels, beginning in 1993. His first imported English Cocker was from Lynwater Kennel from Scotland. He has also bred Irish Setters, Golden Retrievers, and Dobermans under the Heritage prefix, and has produced many Malaysian and Asian Champions and group winners.

Ken is currently the President of MKA. He has always actively served the Malaysian Kennel Association and continues to do so as Judges’ commissioner and Show Manager.

Activity as an All-Breeds judge has taken Ken to many places. He has judged in Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India, Columbia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Canada, USA, Russia, Portugal, Ireland, Estonia, Romania, Switzerland, France, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and WDS (Sao Paulo).

Ken is also actively involved as advisor to PAWS Animal Welfare Society, which is the second largest animal welfare shelter in Malaysia. By profession Ken has been involved in IT, principally in the field of computer broadband.
