Delmar, Sean

Sean is currently President of The Irish Kennel Club and a Member of FCI European Section Committee. He is also the 'Canine Consultant' to State Body regarding Quality & Qualifications for trainers in Ireland.

As an FCI All Breeds International Judge he has judged in all Continents, including FCI World and Section Shows, Crufts, the Eukanuba World Challenge. His knowledge and experience has seen him invited to deliver seminars worldwide on many canine related topics including how Kennel Clubs can best interact with Society. The family prefix, ‘Shillelagh’ Kennels (1950), is one of the most successful terrier kennels in Ireland achieving Top Dog (All Breeds), Top Breeder, Top Sire, having consistently produced top winning terriers in Ireland for almost 70 years.

Sean is known for his lifetime commitment to promoting the breeds of Irish origin and spearheaded a successful campaign that resulted in the 9 Irish Native Breeds been granted 'National Heritage Status' by the Irish Government. 'Nationally, as President, I have maintained close links with statuatory Animal Welfare organisations, Assistance Dogs Groups and Veterinary organisations with particular interest in all type of assist dogs to insure that we are always consulted and are seen as part of the solution and not the problem'
