Le Courtois, Bernard

Bernard is a professional French horse breeder for show jumping and eventing horses, living at his stud farm in Normandy in the village of Brullemail which is also the kennel name of his dogs.

He has had several horses competing in the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008) and World Equestrian Games including a Silver medalist in Lexington, US. 2010 and Bronze in Tryon ,US. 2018 along with many French champions. And he was President of the Selle Français horse breeding association (Stubook SF). The first dog he owned as a teenager was a Boxer and then an Irish Wolf Hound. He had his first Mastiff, Bambou, in 1986 and bred his first Mastiff litter in 1990 (33 years ago).

He is very proud to be invited to judge the Mastiffs at the World Dog Show 2023 and the Bullmastiffs at the Grand Prix. Since 2000, they have had a litter of pups about every 18 months. They have imported two Mastiff puppies from the USA in 2006 & 2017 and also frozen semen to improve their Mastiff selection from several American stud dogs after having travelled to meet breeders and see their dogs throughout the US and National Specialties. They own or have bred 4 World Winners in 2003, 2008, 2015, 2022. Their Mastiffs have won the BOB or the BOS at CRUFTS in 2007, 2012, 2015 and in 2020 and they have bred numerous International champions regularly showing their dogs themselves all over Europe.

Bernard’s kennel has been the top Mastiff Breeder in France 16 times in the past 20 years. They also breed and show Cairn Terriers who share they life and home with our 8 Mastiffs. He is a SCC-FCI judge for MASTIFF and also for Bullmastiff, Newfoundland, Landseer, Kangal and Dogue de Bordeaux for the moment. He is absolutely thrilled to see your dogs and meet you all at this important World Dog Show in Geneva 2023. He wishes everyone success and may the best dogs win.
